We went to Fiji. We stayed at Namena (5 days) and Turtle (10 days). Here are some of the pictures we took. Click on the thumb to see the larger JPEG (1280x960).

Our little bure on arrival by seaplane at Namenalala (Moody's)
Crab versus leaf!
Julie on our favourite beach. There weren't any other guests on the island, so we had it all to ourselves - no footprints on the beach but our own.
Beach with walking girl.
Nathan stalking the wily coconut.
Reading by gaslight under the safety of mosquito netting.
The southernmost half of the little island was a booby reserve. Here we're rounding the cape in a kayak. No boobies are in the shot. No, they're a type of bird.
Julie's been hitting the Kava bowl again.
Twilight on a beach. The sky is full of boobies. Or maybe giant fruit bats.
De plane! De plane! Our seaplane took us away back to Nadi for our next leg. You can see the reef way out there.
A reef from the seaplane. At the edge of the reef, sometimes the bottom drops down from a few feet to a mile or so.
The scary little plane finally makes it to Viti Levu, largest of the islands of Fiji.
Guessing which lever was for floats, and which for wheels. Nadi international airport.
In-flight goofing.
A Hindu temple in Nadi. Some 40 percent of the population are of Indian descent. Many of the resident Gods politely waited for us to leave before consuming the food offerings.
Some situations call for heavy prayer.
The bures at Turtle offered ludicrous levels of luxury.
The little turtle on the left lit up at night. Plushness abounded.
Pleasantly lush, sculpted, tropical garden path leading to one of the bures.
Our little jungle dwelling.
A somewhat crooked shot of Paddy's Island. In the rather unfortunate feature film "The Blue Lagoon", it's where the old sailor (Paddy) drinks himself to death. Cheers!
Nathan exercising his right to pose girlishly in a wetsuit.
The bure had a hot tub too, but the bubbles made Julie think evil thoughts.
We're holding on to our hats, but our Divemaster, Lance, hasn't yet started the engines.
